Too faced born this way concealer maple12/14/2023 ![]() They’re both very good concealers, though, and it’s great to see more high-coverage concealers in this convenient wand format. You can find this in Sephora, whereas Shape Tape has to be ordered online in Canada since we don’t have Ulta. I’m more partial to my Shape Tape shade, so I’ll probably reach for that more often. Overall, the differentiating factors for me between this and Shape Tape are a) shade range, and b) availability. Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Concealer: Maple under my eyes, Chestnut everywhere else. But I find both of them long-lasting and crease-proof. Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Concealer seems to be a smidge thicker than Tarte Shape Tape, and it also dries down a bit faster than Shape Tape does. Chestnut is likely going back to Sephora, and if I’m completely honest, I still prefer the shade I wear in Shape Tape. I wish it were a bit more brightening, but I think the next shade up would look too ashy. Maple, on the other hand, is a pretty decent match for under my eyes and works decently well on my face too. ![]() They’re suuuuper similar, but I find that Chestnut is just slightly too red for my liking, especially given that I like to wear this concealer without foundation. Because of this, I picked up the shades Chestnut and Maple, hoping that Chestnut would work for my face and Maple would work to brighten under my eyes a bit. I have yellow undertones, but I wear Chestnut in Born This Way Foundation – it’s a smidge red but it’s the closest match. If you’re familiar with the shade range of the Born This Way Foundation, you’ll know that the deeper shades (with the exception of Jackie Aina’s new colours) run quite warm. You get more than double the product for an additional $8. It differs from the original concealer in the size of the bottle – 0.23 oz vs 0.50 oz – and the size of the applicator. It’s right at home in the rest of the Born This Way line. The packaging on this isn’t particularly notable. Wand Comparison: Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Concealer vs. ![]() The bottle and concept of Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Concealer immediately reminded me of Shape Tape: a thick, super high-coverage sculpting concealer in a chunky bottle? Um, hello Tarte. Get Too Faced Maple Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Concealer delivered to you in as fast as 1 hour via Instacart or choose curbside or in-store. I already really like the Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer, so this release was super exciting. It’s come a long way, considering that the original Born This Way foundation release had zero shades for dark skin (I worked at Sephora when it came out and couldn’t get it in gratis because they didn’t make my shade). Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Concealer comes on the heels of the brand expanding the Born This Way range, making it one of the more shade-inclusive lines available at Sephora. ![]()
